Gene Steffy Chrysler CDJR
About
Location: Fremont, NE
After a significant hail loss in 2025, Gene Steffy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Fremont, Nebraska invested in a solar-integrated hail protection system designed to protect vehicle inventory while improving long-term operational efficiency. VPS partnered with IPOWER Alliance to deliver a custom solution that combines durable weather protection with on-site solar generation, intelligent energy management, and integrated LED lighting. The result is a dual-purpose canopy system that helps safeguard inventory from hail, heat, and UV exposure while also offsetting energy costs and enhancing the customer experience across the dealership lot.

- Custom-engineered canopy system: Five canopy structures were designed for the Gene Steffy CDJR lot, including a signature curved canopy made up of seven sections at varying azimuths to follow the site’s roadway and landscaping, plus four traditional canopies for efficient lot coverage.
- Solar-integrated protection: The system includes 248 bifacial solar panels connected to three inverters, generating 141 kW of clean energy while providing overhead protection for dealership inventory.
- Hail, heat, and UV defense: The canopies help reduce the risk of costly weather-related vehicle damage and ongoing exposure to harsh sun and heat.
